Nana's, a popular food vendor at the South Pasadena's Farmer's Market. In addition to great food, you'll find organically grown fresh fruit and vegetables.

Nana and Luisa serve customers, eagerly awaiting good, homemade Mexican food.

The Hollywood Tower Hotel

Disney's California Adventure theme park recently added a new attraction called The Tower of Terror. I've not given anything away about the quality of the ride, scare or thrill factor or anything else. You'll have to experience it for yourself! I thought a few photos would be a nice enticement, though.

Welcome to The Hollywood Tower Hotel, (some call it the Tower of Terror). We hope you enjoy your stay.

What a quaint sitting area. Perfect for playing a quick game of Rummy, except that it's cobwebbed and dusty! Where have the players gone?

Webbed snarling dragons, give a sense of the accommodations.

The dimly lit main lobby of the Hollywood Tower Hotel. After exiting this room, you enter a foyer (a la the Haunted Mansion) where the suspense level is kicked up several notches!

Centerpiece of main lobby.

As only Disney can do, the moment you enter the main waiting area, the lighting and interior design leave you in darkness and a feeling that you've entered the bowels of something sinister.

You've entered the interior of the ride (a la Space Mountain). You're now waiting to be assigned your 'service elevator'.

This is the main coaster at Disney's California Adventure. Look closely and you'll see the hoop through Mickey's face.

The baskets at the very end are supposed to be stationary. As I discovered, they move with enough wind!

The Gold Line light rail train passes this non-descript building's backside daily. Each of these windows is a glimpse into row upon row of Asian seamtresses toiling in cramped, hot, stifling conditions.

One of two entrances to Chinatown's tourist district. This is on the Broadway Street side in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, there's no explanation about how to interpret this wheel which has numbers and phrases like prosperity, family, great power, harmony, attraction, progress, retreat, etc.

The light rail stations try to reflect the community they're located in. I liked this bench at the Chinatown station.

The carving and attention to detail of this bench captured my eye. It's magnificent!

On a drive up north, we came upon farm workers picking strawberries. I can't imagine doing such hard, back breaking work in the baking sun for hours at a stretch. Anyone accusing these immigrants of taking jobs away from Americans is nuts!
