This is a new theater in downtown Monrovia. The area is reminiscent of a downtown you'd expect to find in a small mid-western town. They did a nice job of making the theater blend in.

I was sitting in my car during lunch when I noticed an increase in parking garage patrols. It's a sign of the times. Heightened security and all of that. I guess there's no turning back.

A very nice, laid back evening at the Monrovia Coffee Company coffeehouse. The atmosphere is both relaxing and inviting with tempting aromas.

The heat is on and it's time to break out the grill and BBQ. It was a long wet winter in So. Cal. and we're ready to relax and eat!

Summer Jubilee opening night and the crowd for Led Zepagin (a Led Zepplin tribute band) is over flowing. Who knew rock was still hot?

This is the business everyone thought would go under first. It's been hanging in there for ten years. It's survived the arrival of Star*bucks down the street (five years past) and the new Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf two blocks away (two years past). I always feel a sense of pride when I see it buzzing with activity. iBrowse was also the first indie coffee house in my area, to offer 30 minutes of Internet access with the purchase of brew and a danish.

My city's sole candle and bath salt store is closing after three years of struggle. We don't have the demographic to support this type of small business. It's back to Illuminations I go.
