It's rare to get a shot of the control room of a light rail car. I lucked out today, but it's quite grainy because of the window film used.

Filming in Los Angeles

A typical day in Los Angeles. It's quite normal to stumble on film crews and not know what's filming.

The Blessing of the Animals is this Saturday and we've been threatening for years to take Buddah. So far, he hasn't made it, but we're confident that he is blessed anyway.

I don't know why California allows lane splitting. Motocyclists can ride in the middle of lanes, between two cars traveling in the same direction. This guy cut me off so badly and you know, had I hit him, it would automatically have been my fault.

Moody Monday Theme: Spring

The sole tunnel and elevator to the Southwest Museum is inoperable. It's back down the hill to ascend the stairs!

Friday, March 18, 2005

Trust me, these stairs are steep and you feel it throughout your body!

Side of the Southwest Museum.

View from Hopi Trail. I never knew there was a park and playground parallel to the Gold line tracks. A completely different view of the community from above.

South Pasadena Gold Line Route

Cal Trans is cleaning the mess the recent rains have caused. Mud slides resulted in sections of the Gold line running on a single track and a delayed schedule.

Sorry about the reflection.

New retainer wall to keep the hillside at bay.

One of the oldest venues in Los Angeles for hosting small concerts, musicals, plays.

I actually use both PDAs and alternate synching them. I love the Avantgo application and would be lost without it.

I've always wanted to go behind the scenes and see what the light rail tunnels look like. I wonder if homeless people take shelter in the tunnels after the rails shut down.

Colorful housing sitting atop the Hollywood Bl./Western Ave. subway station. I don't know...the color looks okay in passing, but I don't think I'd want to live in this building. You can see the escalator railing leading down to the trains.

When I need a respite from the office, this location always does the trick.

The Oscars have ended and it's time for the barricades, lighting, etc. to be disassembled and the boulevard returned to normal.

Looking west on Hollywood Bl., tourists are gathered in front of the Capitan theater and a man photographs the rental truck.

Looking east on Hollywood Blvd. No tourists are looking.
